I've grown very fond of dresses and skirts this length. There's something about being able to softly bunch one side of the skirt as you walk that feels so incredibly dainty and ladylike.

I've been on a polka dot CRAZE lately. The above skirt is probably my third polka dotted purchase over the past two weeks and I can tell my striped items are feeling a bit neglected.

What about you guys? Anything you can't get enough of lately?

I wasn't planning on doing an outfit post today, but with the arrival of my vintage Deadstock YSL Cateye Sunglasses from Market Publique, I just HAD to take some photos. I've had my eye on them for quite some time and after a little nudging from Pamela over at MP, I took the plunge! So glad I did! Thanks, Pamela!

Plus, this jacket is a trip, ain't it?

There's nothing like a little country music to make an hour stuck in traffic a bit more bearable. (Yes, I just admitted to listening to country music on occasion, when the mood strikes.)

In more important news, all I can say is, can I get a HELL YEAH?! 🙂

calling all honor students!

< 1 minute

So the beautiful thing about fashion is that once we get tired of a season, guess what? It's already time to look months ahead. And in the spirit of getting antsy for fall (as I know most of you guys are!) ModCloth and Weardrobe have joined forces to get you all looking toward: FIRST DAY OF CLASS.

There's something about getting new books, a new book bag and some new clothes that gets me so pumped for September and while I may be long past the days of 8 a.m. college lectures, it doesn't mean I still don't get excited for fall fashion. (And love, love, love seeing what everyone else puts together for their first day ensemble. Yes, I'm the nerdy one who plans out her outfit the night, er, week before.)

Whether you're still in school or just love the coming of fall (crisp leaves and crisp breezes), show us your best first day of class look. Top 25 photos will be passed over to ModCloth's editorial team, who will then select 3 final winners. Those three final winners will receive an ensemble courtesy of ModCloth to style and photograph themselves to be featured on ModCloth's homepage and newsletter!

For official rules, check here and best of luck!

cumbia cumbia cumbia

2 minute read

Wore this to a Sunday concert festival in Stern Grove. Sometimes, there's nothing better than some cumbia music to lift your spirits, even if the sun only came out all of three times. (Such a tease!)

As for the outfit, I've been living in loose, button down shirts lately and loved the almost late 1950s/early 1960s vibe of the outfit with my headwrap turban and all. (My tribute to Mad Men!)

Bonus note: How darling is this necklace? Courtesy of Jess LC, I have to admit, this is perhaps one of my new favorite charm necklaces. It's simple, but I love the concept of it. Her Franklin Collection, all of which have a phrase translated in braille on them (I chose "Be Brave") is available here.

Anddddd….remember those 11 beautiful and far more better at staying up on group clothing swap bloggers, the Delightful Dozen? Well you can check out their styling of the necklace as well right here.

ModCloth Behind the Scenes Bash from krystal bick on Vimeo.

Who wouldn't want an adorable flipbook documenting bits and pieces of their lives? I have to say it, this is possibly the BEST party favor I have ever received, thereby beating out that one time at Ally M's birthday party in the third grade. (And whew, that was a doozy, believe me!)

My co-worker Abby and I had a blast at the ModCloth Behind the Scenes party earlier this week and I thought it best to share our little montage entitled "Drinking at 2 in the afternoon is completely acceptable and sometimes encouraged (at work)."

God, I hope an employer doesn't see this.

Enjoy!

Yes. I'm still into the Miu Miu print craze. Yes, like everyone else and their sister these days. But I just couldn't help myself when I spotted this adorable feline friendly print dress at Nasty Gal. With the knee high socks and clogs, I just sort of ran with the whole Lolita/school girl kick. All I was missing was a lollipop, but hey, sometimes you have to tone it down otherwise the neighbors start wondering about your day job.

Anyyyhooo, what trends are you guys feeling these days? Anything I should be putting on my radar soon?

Yes, another Panama hat this week to cover up the messy excuse for hair that I have going on right now. And from the sounds of your comments, perhaps I should really consider growing these bangs out. Although, admittedly, after watching "500 Days of Summer" for the 500th time, I just can't decide. (Darn you Zooey Deschanel and your 1960s haircut!)

The debate continues. Of course, the logical person would prepare a list of pros and cons at this point, but in the interest of knowing that I won't completely finish the list, here's my reader's digest version for keeping the bangs:

Pro: Don't have to pluck my eyebrows
Cons: My eyebrows could scare the blind

Talk about one of the most beautiful Saturday's in the Panhandle I've ever seen. Loved it! Took a nice, quick walk over there and napped out on the lawn, amidst frisbee players, dog walkers and the occasional bicyclist.

As for the Panama hat, let's just say I'll be overdosing on this thing while my bangs grow out. Yes, the bangs are going, I think. I've had them for over two years now and am tired of having to constantly get them trimmed for sweep them off my face. What say all of you? Keep the bangs or no?

2 minute read

This has to be one of the most random skirts I own, covered in the alphabet. And in case you were wondering, yes, sometimes fashion allows you to channel your inner 2nd grade teacher.

As for the lack of posts lately (apologies for not answering e-mails lately either, I'm digging through that inbox as we speak), I have to say that things have come to a rather screeching halt here at This Time Tomorrow. Hopefully, with a little luck and willing standby photographers, posting will return to normal. And if I'm really lucky, my sleeping habits will follow suit. I'm not holding my breath, though.

On a lighter note, how was everyone else's weekend? I went for a relaxing hike outside of the city. The fresh air (and climbing some rather epic trees) worked wonders.

young and baroque

2 minute read

Here's to hoping for some beautiful weather this weekend. I think I could use some sunshine and backyard parties right about now. Ah graduation season, you are welcomed every year. And now that I think about it, I can't believe I was graduating from college this time last year. Anyone else coming to the painful realization that old age is sneaking up on them? Or am I being paranoid?

On an outfit related note, I received this lovely little Young and Baroque dress from ModCloth and absolutely adore the vintage flower-esque print of it, not the mention the soft t-shirt feel. I can already tell that it's going to be a summer repeat.

Any big plans this weekend?

What's a French Toast Orgy, you ask? Well the above plate of sugary goodness, topped with loads of honey, oatmeal and an assortment of fruit and (long pause of drooling)....oh sorry, getting distracted looking at this photo ... plants could never fight zombies, or could they?

2 minute read

Has anyone else experienced the wonder that is Plants vs. Zombies? I highly recommend this game. Perhaps with a glass of wine. And a spare 7 hours of your life. Because you won't regret it.

Thanks Jamie, for this unhealthy addiction tip. Whatever social life I had before, thanks you as well.

On an unrelated plant or zombie note, I've been slowly finding my way around the eatery spots in my neighborhood. Found the most amazing bagel place this morning and last night, I about died for a gnocchi dish I ordered at a local Italian restaurant. There is no quicker way to my heart than a meal with red wine and some hearty gnocchi pasta. And cream sauce. Or pesto sauce. Or both.

Speaking of which, I'm going back for more. Tonight. Then maybe round two with Plants vs. Zombies.

ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, Week #4

< 1 minute

This Composition VII hat from ModCloth is just too darling, I felt like I was about to run off to church in this get up, wearing my finest white linen dress with a lady like trench coat. Of course, the t-strap heels helped in the overall daintiness of the outfit and while I'm not quite sure the hat will be a keeper in my rotation of go-to head adornments, I loved how Jackie O it all felt.

As you've already probably guessed, this is the last installment of the ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge and I absolutely love how the other girls styled up this hat. Do scurry over and check them out.

2 minute read

Just spent a lovely weekend feeling like a San Franciscan. Cruised around the panhandle and settled on taking a nap in Duboce Park, had an awesome tuna melt at a diner, walked across the Golden Gate (which I've never done before!) and bundled up in light layers for the winds that inevitably picked up at the beach.

I feel completely relaxed.

On another note, today marks This Time Tomorrow's one year birthday! Exactly a year ago today, I was muddling my way through Blogspot, trying to figure out what I was going to blog about and generally wondering if anyone out there (besides my parents) would ever read this. So much has happened and changed since then and I can't believe sometimes how quickly it has all gone by. I've been lucky enough to do some pretty incredible things because of this blog and I have you, dear readers, to thank for it.

With that said, thank you. Seriously. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you.

Man, could I be any more smile-happy in these photos? I blame the sunny California weather and it's darn persuasive ways, tempting me to go outside and not be productive.

As for the outfit, there's something to be said about wearing an uber girly dress with a full skirt and cute pattern with edgier heels. The contrast makes me feel like a Zooey Deschanel hybrid with a dash of edgy, rocker chick (I couldn't think of a celebrity that fit in this analogy. Any ideas?)

DIY turban

2 minute read

I'm a sucker for taking floral printed scarves and wearing them with stripes. There. I said it.

Call it a guilty pleasure, easy fall back or just plain, uninspired laziness, I can't help it. That's why, when ModCloth sent me this Paisley Panache Scarf, I literally had to restrain the initial urge to resort to my go-to. Granted, I still wore the stripes, but I like to think that my little DIY head turban idea was a small window of breaking my habit.

Baby steps, people, baby steps.

This of course marks the third installment of the Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, which admittedly, I have been wayyyyy behind on. I'm up against some stiff competition, though, so I feel pretty honored to even be included in the bunch. Of course, if you'd like, (I know I would like it) you can vote here for your favorite look.

On a much more general note, posting should be getting back to normal over the next couple of days. I claim temporary insanity, i.e. lack of sleep and too many nights on an air mattress. Speaking of which, yours truly now has an actual bed as the Ikea gods were kind to me the other day.

But the real thanks goes to Dan, who was a good sport after finding out the box spring didn't quite fit into the elevator and pretty much heaved the thing up five flights of stairs. (I pushed and guided as much as wearing a skirt and heels would allow. Thanks Dan!)

70s chick/ikea trip

2 minute read

It was hard not to channel some sort of 70s TV maven in this outfit, with the wide leg trouser jeans, looser fitting top and some serious clogs. About these jeans though, I think I found my new favorite cut to start replacing my collection of skinnies. There's something to be said about a wide leg cut with a pair of heels -- instantly taller/slimmer not to mention it's a nice change of pace and gives me some time to wash the already worn too thin skinnies.

I'll have apartment pictures hopefully sometime this weekend. But first, I have to go to IKEA and pick up a bed. Somehow the air mattress I've been sleeping on the past few weeks doesn't do my apartment justice.

And while we're on the subject of IKEA, is it all too corny and disgustingly cute to admit that I kind of want to play the IKEA game? Because I do. Any takers?

ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, Week #2

2 minute read

Here in all it's glory, I have the second week's installment of the ModCloth Spring Fever Blogger Challenge, with none other than this darling Na-Na-Nineties Dress. Since the dress itself is pretty feminine with the cute, bubble skirt and pastel colors, I paired some darker accessories with it, namely the wide brim Belfry Ella hat from Hats in the Belfry.

The other girls naturally killed it in this dress, although it's interesting to see just how similarly we styled it up. That's the fun thing about these remix challenges for me. I tend to focus more on the similarities between the outfits, not the differences, to see what worked basically.

Of course, if you feel so inclined, you can go here and go for your favorite look.
