I'm sure you all heard this throughout the day, but I can't stop watching this new Gaga video. Oddly strange and fantastic, at the same time.

Bravo, Gaga. If anyone can give birth to themselves, it's you!

Tahoe bound

2 minute read

This weekend was all about comfort -- broken in flared jeans, navajo print knit jacket, cable knit sweater -- I was ready for some serious lounging up at Tahoe. Much needed lounging might I add, after several weeks of running around in heels in New York City. Of course, this lady brought heels up to Tahoe, to which the store clerk at Safeway remarked, "Not from around here, are you?"

Ironically enough, I am from around here.

How was your weekend? Lots of good Oscar watching? Is it just me or was James Franco a little, er, boring (never thought I would say that). And how about that Kirk Douglas?

"You know..."

I was feeling a bit "True Grit" in this outfit. Ya dig?

back in sf

2 minute read

Apologies for the extreme lack of posts lately, dear readers. The behemoth that is New York Fashion Week nearly killed me (in every good sense of the word killed, I suppose) and I had to deal with some personal things on top of that (doesn't everyone though?).

I'm willing to bet you didn't come here for excuses so I'll shut my mouth as far as whining about lack of sleep goes. Hope you're all well and looking forward to some sunny skies like I am! I'm officially back in SF now but will be heading up to Lake Tahoe this weekend for a much needed getaway after my long getaway (make sense?).

Cabin outfit posts to come! Cozy sweaters, trousers and knits sound like heaven after running around in tights and heels in the freezing NYC cold. Hurrah!

Say goodbye to these heels, everyone! Some lucky NYC cab driver has a new size 7, platform pumps as I accidentally left them in the backseat, after changing into flats.

(Angry fist shake!)

Looks like I have to go shoe shopping. (Bummer, right?!)

2 minute read

Just headed out in this outfit for some quick (shopping) errands around Union Square -- last minute touches for NYC and Fashion Week. One thing is for sure -- California sure has a sick sense of humor. Trading 60+ degree, sunny weather for the snowpocalypse = one overweight suitcase for Krystal.

long lost flares

< 1 minute

I've been searching for the perfect pair of high waisted, wide flare jeans -- and recently found this little number of the weekend at Urban Outfitters. Wearing them around today made me recall a time when ALL I would wear was flared jeans, circa middle school.

Funny isn't it? How wearing a certain type of clothing item can make you nostalgic about a former self.

deleted scenes

You all have seen this outfit before -- just some outtakes from a few weeks ago. I stumbled across them while dumping old photos off my camera. Nothing like some sky high heels while walking along a somewhat busy two lane road to make you feel alive. Or in danger of getting hit/falling on your face.

Happy Tuesday!

I am on a roll with the peter pan collars lately. Seriously. Someone. Stop. Me. Soon! To even out (or maybe worsen) the very 10-year old girl vibe of this dress, I had to throw in the daisy mary-janes. Sweet and girly in platforms and I'm ready to take on the day!

in a whisper

2 minute read

As I type this, I'm practically without a voice -- somewhere between Friday and Saturday it gave up on me, leaving me with a squeaky, prepubescent boy in it's place. (Figuratively, not literally, I'm no babysitter, guys.)

On one hand, that means very little or no conference calls for me today. On the other, I have to whisper/squeak everywhere I go. Or carry a note pad with me and try this out.

a quick hello from summer

2 minute read

Every once in a while, summer tries to pop in and say hello during winter. On those occasions in San Francisco, everyone and their dog runs to the beach. (Bundled in light jackets, of course, because San Franciscans don't really know how to dress down for warm weather.)

As for myself, I was attempting to channel a rad 70s vibe, with wide stovepipe flares, loose blouse, broken in leather jacket and a turban headband. And after our picnic of quesadillas and goldfish crackers (woo hoo!), proceeded to take a little nap on the beach in said outfit.

Beautiful Saturday if you ask me!

classic twist

2 minute read

I love the added twist of leather to an otherwise classic outfit -- the trench coat and striped tee started off the ensemble and when I couldn't find my black skinny jeans, these leather pups came out for the day.

Sometimes you just need leather pants and fur trimmed heels to put a bounce in your step, you know what I mean?

How was everyone's weekend?

sponsor spotlight!

2 minute read

Was just shopping around my lovely sponsors the other day and I figured I should formally introduce everyone! Given that this time of year is a great time to start picking up any end of fall/winter items and gearing up for spring, I love scouring around my online haunts for both. The outfit possibilities seem endless.

Need Supply (top row of products) just about steals my heart every time with their edgy and dash of minimalistic styling. I just love these finds too, all of them appropriate moving into spring (ahem, a San Francisco spring = chilly and lots of rain). In fact, I think that jacket just might have to be mine soon, to be worn with flowy, floral dresses or perhaps even jean cut off shorts and tights.

LaLaLand Vintage is a new online shop to me and I couldn't be happier to have come across it. The curation of their vintage is impeccable (I mean, just look at that Navajo print jacket in the center!) not to mention it's run by perhaps the cutest lets-start-a-vintage-clothing-store couple I've ever seen. Definitely worth checking in on daily to see what treasures you might be able to scoop up!

Top row: (left to right)
L/S Ripped Dress, Need Supply, $54; Mary Lou by Jeffrey Campbell, Need Supply, $132; Shearling Lined Jacket, Need Supply, $74

Bottom row: (left to right)
Embroidered Mexican Skirt, LaLaLand Vintage, $60; Aztec Southwestern Navajo Jacket, LaLaLand Vintage, $42; Brown Cable Knit Shredded Sweater Jumper, LaLaLand Vintage, $38

tried and true

< 1 minute

I've been meaning to try out this specific combination for a while now -- long maxi skirt and a fitter blazer. Essentially, the two most worn things here on This Time Tomorrow, especially as of late.

And while those two staples are tried and true here on the blog, this fun faux fur leopard scarf (say that three times fast!) adds just the right amount of play to an otherwise refined outfit, no?

Happy Wednesday everyone!

parisian punk

2 minute read

This outfit came together rather quickly and out of a half-awake/somewhat sick state of mind. I love the mix of the light, springtime florals with dark tights and tough biker jacket. The beret was added even more at the last minute, literally as I was heading out the door. I couldn't pass up on a little Parisian spin.

In other news, if you're wondering how or why my hair is ridiculously straight, I have an update coming later about my Brazilian Blowout I got this weekend with my friend Jacquie. Stay tuned!

And in other news, are we following each other yet on Twitter? I'd love to see you guys on there! You can follow me here.

one of those days

2 minute read

Do you ever just have one of those days where everything feels off? I've been battling a cold for the past few days and I forgot how much these things WIPE you out. Mentally. Emotionally. Physically.

I rolled out of bed this morning, fresh from a deep Nyqil sleep, threw this outfit on (in hopes to recreate this outfit) and ended up feeling uncomfortable all day in it.

I actually have lots of days like this (more than I would like to admit, actually). I usually tend to not document them on here, but figured I would own up to it -- an outfit flop. There. I said it! We're only human, right? It happens.

But...

To see how a lady like jacket like this should be worn, check out this little lady. She did it right.

You all know me and my love of blazers, especially paired with fanciful little dresses. Lately I've been loving this pop of color this blazer adds, especially to something as simple and neutral as a little black dress.

2010 recap

1 minute

Well, here we are folks! The last official day of 2010! And what a ride it's been! As I was flipping through my archives finding my favorite posts from each month, it really hit me how much has changed since we were saying goodbye to 2009.

I was unemployed. Then went to New York City for job interviews, only to get a job in San Francisco, four or so hours from Reno. Worked at Like.com, went through an acquisition and now work at Google. Went to my first NY Fashion Week in February. Helped with our launch party in NYC in November. Have made some amazing friends and have welcomed some awesome sponsors along the way.

It doesn't seem like much typed out like that, but it made my head spin when I was reminiscing over each photo. It's been said before on lots of other blogs lately, but it truly is crazy how much I remember about each day just by looking at a particular photo. What I was doing, feeling, thinking, worrying about, looking forward to. This blogging business is the best journal I've ever stayed faithful to and I can't wait to flip through it when I'm 80.

So to all new and old readers, thanks for stopping by and sharing this with me. I look forward to 2011 with you!

Starting from top left: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December

8 days of dresses…

2 minute read

I don't know about all of you, but if you're anything like me, you're probably just now starting to lift your head from all the leftover pumpkin pie and Christmas cookies and wondering, "What to wear for New Year's Eve?"

This dilemma usually happens to me every year -- I scramble for a few days running around to as many stores as possible until I find the dress that seems fitting to kiss the year goodbye in. This year, I decided to save my feet a bit (I bought way in advance, pics coming soon!) and wanted to do the same for you by rounding up a few of my favorite dresses from my newest sponsor, Need Supply Co.

What I love about Need Supply Co. and their collection of dresses especially is just how unique and well-crafted each piece is. Last year on NYE, I distinctly remember spotting at least three other girls with my dress on. (The dress was from Forever 21.) It's not that I have anything against fast-fashion stores (I practically live in Forever 21 and H&M after all) but for an occasion like New Year's, it's nice to feel somewhat assured that you won't bump into another girl wearing the same dress as you while you're counting down 8...7...6...5...4...

You get the picture.

Plus, each dress here would look great styled a bunch of different ways, for the Big Night and for future wear in 2011. Long shaggy fur vest, leather jacket, tuxedo blazer, motorcycle boots, the possibilities are endless!

What are all of you wearing for New Year's?

Top (from left to right): Bloom Dress, $119.99; Tulle & Lace Cami Dress, $58; Merrie's Crush Velvet, $99.99; Grid Iron Strapless, $108.99
Bottom (from left to right): Tribal Dress, $99.99; Warrior Dress, $129.99; Velvet Dress, $129.99; Sick in Soho, $39.99

christmas dress

2 minute read

Hope everyone is enjoying their time with family and friends for the holidays! I, myself, just got back from Reno, surprisingly unscathed by the cold elements (whew!) and am so thankful to have spent time with my family, pig out to lots of movies and generally lounge about in a state of blissful laziness. It felt great.

I have to admit it: my Dad nailed it with this dress (not that I didn't have faith in you, Dad). He happened to check out this post where I detailed some of my must-haves for an Alexa Chung closet. I'm really glad he picked this ModCloth dress as the peter pan collar is darling and with a bold print jacket (remember this leopard beauty from last winter!?) and some Mary-Jane heels, I feel oh-so mod.

So without further ado, thanks Dad.

Dress: Smile So Sweet Dress, ModCloth
Jacket: Faux fur leopard print jacket, vintage
Shoes: Mary-Jane platform heels, Forever 21
