Two things I wanted to bring up today. The first? Please make sure you get out and vote! And secondly, I hope you'll join me in helping out the ongoing Hurricane Sandy relief efforts for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions most affected by the storm. Donating to the American Red Cross is easy -- you can do so online here or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to automatically donate $10. Every little bit truly does count!

a little help from my friends

3 minute read
As some of you may recall from earlier this year, I took a big leap and chopped off and donated about 12 inches of hair. I still remember sitting in my stylist's chair, eyes somewhat closed as my boyfriend sat off to the side giving me what he thought was a reassuring thumbs up. (He insisted on staying to make sure I went through with it as I had backed out 30 times a handful of times before.)
Two seconds later, after much of the hair I had grown for the past several years fell to the floor in just a few snips -- I gasped and ran my hand through what was left. I'll spare you the obligatory scissor shock and immediate feelings of regret that we all inevitably feel after a big change like that -- because after a few days in, I didn't want to look back! It's funny how I always identified myself as a long haired gal and now, seeing pictures of myself from just last January, I don't even recognize myself. Hair truly is transformative -- and this shorter do of mine has certainly made me rethink my style and how I carry myself, in some of the best ways possible!
One thing that hasn't changed though is my love of curly hair, long or short. I've detailed my step by step process here for you all to recreate a similar messy bob, but what I haven't done is introduce you to some of the ladies I always look to for hair inspiration. Cue Arizona, Miroslava and Yasmin. Any time I'm in need of a hair trim now, they come along (via Pinterest). No questions asked. And while their curly coiffed bobs are naturally wavy much to my straight hair chagrin, it's important to me to make sure my stylist sees the kind of layers I need to recreate a similar look on my own (with the help of some fantastic products of course). As you know, I've been test driving some of Paul Mitchell's curl products for their Truth About Curls campaign and I've recently become addicted to their "Twirl Around" curl definer. It has a much more defined hold which helps achieve the tighter "Yasmin" curl you see above (also similar to Carrie's ringlets circa Season 5). Obsessed.
On that note, I want to encourage you all to share your own curl confessions, obsessions or just general tips (sorry, ran out of words that rhymed) here on the Paul Mitchell Facebook page. And for the extra daring (and I know you all are!) you can upload your own picture to the Paul Mitchell Facebook page -- those who do will be able to check themselves out once the photos are displayed around town both in New York City and LA on November 15 at 6 p.m.! To submit, simply head on over to the Paul Mitchell Facebook page here or post your confession on Twitter/Instagram with the #curlconfession hashtag. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on November 14. Added bonus? These rad folks are also giving away curl products to their favorite submissions -- so get snapping folks, the clock is ticking! 🙂
First things first though -- who do you look to for hair inspiration?

You may recall this post where I professed my love of all things baroque for fall -- so stumbling upon this flared skirt at Zara this past weekend was a no brainer for me. (Bonus fall points for coming in my favorite color du jour -- emerald.) As for other fall trends, you can peek my new Pinterest board that I've been curating like mad, aptly titled "Delightfully Chic" -- where you'll find all my current cravings and, let's be honest, wait-listed-for-sales items.
But, if you'd rather not wait (because who ever does?!) I've partnered with one of my favorite Marina boutique gems, Chloe Rose, so one of you, dear readers, can reap the rewards of a $500 shopping spree at Chloe Rose (I just ask that you Instagram the loot!). To enter, simply create a Pinterest board titled "Delightfully Chic" and pin away, making sure to include at least three items from Chloe Rose. You have until 10/30 to set your board up, with the winner being selected and announced by a panel of Chloe Rose and other participating bloggers on 11/1.
And while we're on the subject of contests, I'm pleased to announce that Jen of The Stylish Housewife is our winner of the Elizabeth Kosich bathing suit giveaway! Sending you an email now, lady -- congrats!

Clockwise from top left: The Kills, Blood Pressures; St. Vincent, Strange Mercy; Cat Power, Sun; Florence + The Machine, Ceremonials

With a few concerts coming up on my calendar, I figured we were overdue for a fall playlist around these parts. (Some of you may recall I shared my summer tunes here wayyyy back in June.) This time though, I've enlisted the sartorial help of my four favorite ladies -- Alison, Annie, Chan and Florence -- to add a little extra pep in our steps when planning that next concert outfit. After all, I almost always ask myself before heading out to a show, "What would she wear?" referring of course, to none other than the lead singer herself. It's like a recent quote I read from the sister duo Nina Sky: "People love to listen to music and keep up with their favorite artists, from their latest videos to what they're wearing." So without further adieu, let's see what these rockin' ladies might be wearing...

The Rocker: Alison Mosshart of The Kills
The Indie Darling: Annie Erin Clark of St. Vincent
The Tomboy: Chan Marshall of Cat Power
The Ethereal Beauty: Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine

I've had this image of Giovanna Battaglia saved for quite some time now -- hesitant to try it myself since I wasn't really sure if I could pull off the whole scarf-tied-around-the-waist look quite as effortlessly as she can. Then I figured -- why not? That's the fun part about fashion -- experimenting! I think my friend Lauren Goodman summed it up best when she was describing her style in a recent interview with Refinery29
"Two parts classic. One part fashion victim."
Sometimes you just gotta try to see what works for you and what doesn't
On another note, I'm unintentionally channeling my inner Google colors here. Nerd alert! 😉

life lately

Here's what I've been up to lately...
1.) The view circa mile 10 of the Nike Women's Half Marathon last weekend. Right around this time I was so incredibly thankful for the foggy weather -- the mist was much needed to cool down.
2.) Indian summer sunset up at Alamo Square.
3.) Loved reading this op-ed piece from our First Lady in Elle Magazine.
4.) An intimate dinner fête with the West Elm and Glitter Guide team. I was lucky enough to sit next to West Elm's creative director Vanessa Holden, whose Australian accent and entertaining stories from her publishing days at Martha Stewart had me at hello! Plus, she told me I reminded her of her good friend, Yasmin Sewell, which practically made my week!
5.) A post-half-marathon-treat thanks to Miami-based food emporium, Cooper Avenue. It took a lot of restraint to stop and take this photo after one bite. I devoured it shortly after.
6.) Mr. Mailman was good to me! A surprise runner-up gift from dressed, for participating in this little style challenge
7.) Pumped up kicks thanks to Nike! These Nike Dunk Sky Highs (with Tiffany blue accents!) has this once-skeptical girl embracing the wedge sneaker trend.
8.) Oxblood and cobalt. Speaking of oxblood, did you see mine and Heather's monochromatic looks from earlier this week?
9.) All race "medals" should come in a Tiffany's box. Just sayin'...
10.) Hanging with Jennifer of Fools in Fashion at my Macy's curated closet event last week. Great meeting you, Jennifer! I hope you come back and visit SF really soon!
11.) Pre-half-marathon treat at Ghirardelli Square.
12.) More oxblood -- this time in the form of a darling, fur detailed backpack thanks to Pour La Victoire!

The adorable "closet" the folks at Macy's built for me! Remember that main image from here?
Left: Note to self, I need to scoop up a leather top like this French Connection one. Right: This printed dress was too good to pass up.
Clearly I had a lot of fun grabbing jewelry in the accessories department. Lots of layering going on!
One of my favorite looks -- white chunky knit sweater paired with a floaty, pleated maxi skirt.
Left: You all know I'm a sucker for matching skirt or pant suits. This Tracy Reese suit is calling my name! Right: Jenna Lyons-esque with a casual denim jacket paired with a sequined evening gown.
Satin? Teal? Rhinestone bow? What's not to love?
Left: Monochromatic emerald. Right: Can never go wrong with a good jumpsuit.
Might have to come back soon for this chunky emerald necklace.
Pop! Of color!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'm currently recovering from yesterday's Nike women's half marathon, so I hope you enjoy these detail shots from last week's styling event at Macy's. I'll be posting what I wore for the evening later this week, so stay tuned!
Now, to go rest these aching bones of mine. 🙂

A festive carabao at the Yona fiesta. Pretty dapper, huh?
Obsessed with her flower crown -- otherwise known as a pandana.
And here's Do'ak the real carabao!
Do'ak and I ready for our close up. Don't ask me what face I'm making here. He started to move so I was't sure what to do.
Woven cuties.
Outfit #1: Jacket: Old Navy; Dress: Parker, borrowed from Heather (similar style here); Sandals: J.Crew; Bag: Pour La Victoire c/o; Sunglasses: Karen Walker
Outfit #2: Bathing suit: Elizabeth Kosich New York c/o; Shorts: Levis; Sunglasses: Karen Walker
For one of our final days on the island, we packed as much as we could in -- to savor every last moment! We kicked off the morning at a fiesta in the village of Yona. Predominantly Catholic, Guam's villages (there's 19 total) have a dedicated patron saint that they celebrate once a year. As luck would have it, Yona's is Saint Francisco, fitting for this Bay Area girl. Fiestas are thrown by everyone in the village so it's not uncommon to "fiesta hop" -- think tons of food, dancing and music -- with the occasional carabao ride thrown in.
Josie and I then headed to Gun Beach where we enjoyed some downtime of, well, doing nothing but listening to the ocean roll in and reflect on how I didn't want to leave.
Now that I'm back in SF, with my bags (sorta) unpacked, I personally want to thank everyone who made this trip possible. Huge thank you to the Guam Visitors Bureau for inviting me out -- and being so incredibly kind to me during my stay (Mark, Josie and Felix, I'm looking at you!). Here's to the start of many more Guam trips in the future! I didn't get to go scuba diving this time -- so I got my rain check ready. Be sure to check out all my other posts from the island here: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4Hafa adai!
But in the meantime, I do have something more for you, dear readers. You can snag an Elizabeth Kosich New York bathing suit (like the one I'm wearing here) for yourself! Simply follow Elizabeth Kosich New York on Twitter and Facebook (here and here respectively) and leave a comment below! The contest ends next Friday, Oct. 19, with the winner being selected by the folks at Elizabeth Kosich New York -- good luck to you all! (If you can't wait though, she's also offering a 20% discount code for all This Time Tomorrow readers -- be sure to enter "TTT20" at checkout.)
On that note, happy almost weekend, everyone!

Wore this out to dinner at a local favorite, The Beach, on one of our last nights on the island. It was a fitting farewell meal -- our table was literally on the shore, with waves lapping nearby. 1.) A full rolling rack of my final selects at Macy's. 2.) I'm always a sucker for graphic black and white looks, this fall is no exception. 3.) Going incognito this season in camo! 4.) Love, love, love this RACHEL Rachel Roy dress.
As I mentioned last week in this post, I'm so excited to be hosting a little styling soirée at the Union Square Macy's this coming Thursday, October 11! Festivities begin at 6 p.m. sharp in the Impulse department, level 3, where you'll get to peek 18 of my favorite fall outfits (!!). And yes, for the after-work crowd, there will be plenty of champagne sipping to be had.
To kick things off (and to help me better prepare my final outfit selections) I've put this Pinterest board together with all my fall cravings. Lots of burgundy, emerald greens, embellishments, printed suits (duh) and luxe leather. For the full effect though, you'll have to stay tuned for Thursday -- hope to see you all there!

Our second day in Guam was dedicated to exploring all over the island and just going back through these photos makes me miss the humidity! We started off the day heading north to a wildlife refuge where we sat in the shade and took in the ocean views below us. (So glad I brought these fans along -- they came in super handy during our downtime.) We then went south to one of my favorite spots of the whole trip -- Two Lovers Point. According to Chamorron legend, the daughter of a wealthy Spanish aristocrat and a local Chamorro boy from a modest family fell madly in love only to realize that both their families forbid their relationship. Out of desperation, the two lovers tied their hair together and jumped off the cliff, to escape both of their angry family's wrath. The locks and tags you see above are left by visitors who write their lover's name on them and throw the key away over into the ocean -- quite romantic sentiments to think about as you stand on the overhang looking out.

Ah, back to reality! By the time this post goes up, I'll be waiting for my bags at the SFO baggage claim, fresh from an almost week-long trip to Guam -- a lush, and culture-brimming oasis part of the Micronesian Islands. From the sweeping ocean views at Two Lovers Point to the deeply rooted and well preserved Chamorro culture among the community, I'm so incredibly grateful that I was able to go on this trip and really immerse myself in everything the island has to offer. While I unpack my bags and get settled back into the work routine (boo!) I hope you enjoy this outfit that I wore for one of our first days of shopping around on the island, enjoying some serious retail therapy in the main shopping district, Tumon Bay. I couldn't get myself there fast enough -- duty-free was calling my name!
Stay tuned throughout the week -- more recaps to come...

It's been a crazy past couple of days between traveling and running around the island of Guam. So while yours truly attempts to adjust to the new time zone (and humidity!), I hope you enjoy my dream packing list. Pretty smitten with the idea of wearing floor-length dresses/gowns and pairing them with a chic pair of flat sandals.
And speaking of dream closets, upon arriving back in the States, I'll be hosting a little soirée of sorts at the Union Square Macy's on Oct. 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Would love to see your lovely faces there -- I'll be hand-selecting my favorite items from the store to build a mini "This Time Tomorrow" boutique. Light refreshments, music and other stylish gals? Doesn't sound too bad for a Thursday night, right? 😉

As you may have seen on Instagram, I traveled out to Chico, CA this past weekend for my friends Marissa and Charlie's wedding. And was blown away. Think Great Gatsby on the ranch -- hay bales for seating during the ceremony, drinks served in mint julep cups, courtesy parasols to escape the sunset heat and the perfect family-style reception dining. And don't get me started on Marissa's Claire Pettibone dress. Absolutely stunning on her. If you're currently planning your wedding, I highly recommend you check out her inspiration Pinterest boards. I've been following them up until the big day -- and it was so fun seeing it come to life.
The evening itself was full of dancing under a high-top tent, drinking the most delicious cucumber-infused Tom Collins and finally ending the night singing around a bonfire (under a full moon, no less!).
Congratulations again to the happy couple -- thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!
