Perhaps one of the biggest reasons I hold off from cleaning out my closet wares more often (aside from the daunting task of actually doing it) is that I'm usually torn where to take my much-loved but hardly worn items. Truth be told, they usually end up sitting in a pile in my closet before I get tired of the clutter and hang them back up -- therefore defeating the whole purpose in the first place. Why do I hold on to them? I guess part of me really wants to see them go to a loving closet where they'll get much more use (and hey, making some extra cash back for new pieces certainly wouldn't hurt either!).
Well I teased it here and here -- you guys demanded it -- so here it is: my closet is now up for grabs via Threadflip -- a new community site that allows its members to sell items directly from their own closets. My favorite parts? Uploading items is a cinch (a big must-have for me) and browsing other members' items can be slightly addicting since most are merchandised on themselves in the context of a full outfit. Hello inspiration!
Are you guys on Threadflip? Let me know in the comments below -- would love to check out your closets! And in the meantime, you can find my closet here or simply jump over there via the "Shop" link in the top navigation bar above. I'll be adding new items over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!

Most evenings, right after work, I'm usually pretty beat (an hour and a half commute will do that to you sometimes!), but yesterday, we had one of those lingering, drawn out sunsets -- I just couldn't resist! With the end of summer upon us, I gave into the impulse and took a quick detour en route home to stroll through Golden Gate Park -- even discovered a new-to-me rose garden along the way.
Which leads me to my next question: how are you relishing the end of your summer? Any fun plans or last hurrahs?

This dress never fails to make me feel extremely feminine (I think the full skirt of tulle layers might have something to do with it) -- throw in my favorite flowers, a surprise gift from the man friend right before these photos were snapped -- and I'm set
How was your weekend, lovelies? Any fun adventures?

After an unexpected burst of motivation to clean out my closet last weekend, I may or may not have alluded to the fact I would be selling a few of my very much loved, but not worn often enough pieces. Well, after another unexpected burst of motivation, I got around to photographing the first batch and wanted to share a sneak peek with you all! No items are for sale just yet but be sure to look for an update from me next week as to how you can get your hands (er, feet!) on them.
And in the meantime, hope you have a great weekend!

currently craving: fall favorites

< 1 minute
With Fashion Week right around the corner (and the IFB conference where I'll be speaking on a panel around an even closer corner!) the shopping anxiety has certainly settled in -- what the heck do I pack?!   Of course, I have to acknowledge, packing for trips isn't exactly my strong suit (in all honesty, I usually end up packing the morning of my flight by throwing a lot of random pieces in my suitcase hoping they mix and match nicely together. Moral of that packing story? Don't do that.)
This year, I'm taking some preemptive steps by pinning my favorite outfits here on Pinterest and saving some of favorite items on Lyst here. And luckily for this lady who LOVES a good deal, I'm stalking Lyst like a hawk for their sale updates. Now if only those Givenchy boots would cooperate and magically end up with a 75% discount sticker on them...
Want to see what else I'm craving for fall? Follow me on Lyst here!

While I was not a fan of the second installment of the "Sex and the City" movie series for too many reasons I won't go into now -- I was (and am still) quite smitten with this outfit that Carrie wore to the market or souq in Abu Dhabi. Whimsy but still semi-grounded with a casual tee -- perfectly Carrie and perfect for my own day of casual shopping. Not at a souq mind you, but trust me, it's on my travel bucket-list.

You may remember my first foray into the overall territory a few months back (but fret not, a refresher can be found here!). And lately, well, I can't seem to get enough of them. They're just too easy to throw on with some heels and funky jewelry (or in this case, fringe!) and call it a day.

Blouse: Maje; Jeans: c/o Paige; Shoes: "Ivy" slingback c/o Sole Society; Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, J. Crew chain bracelet, Gorjana "Super Star" and "Taner" necklaces c/o
Some of my favorite outfit moments really are pretty simple when you boil them down. Case in point? As much as I love a good printed pant suit or a flared hem pencil skirt, I'm really a sucker for a classic white tee and jeans, as evidenced here, here and oh, I dunno, here. The key ingredient, of course, is a fun pair of shoes to spice things up a bit -- another (obvious) weakness of mine.
So when Sole Society, a new shoe membership site, approached me to style up my favorite pair, the easy part was saying yes, the difficult part was choosing just one! Introducing a new cute, on-trend shoe every day to its members, there's always something fresh to discover on Sole Society (not to mention the prices are incredibly affordable at about $50 a pair). You can shop some of my other top picks here and should the mood strike you, be sure to enter the code TTT15 for $15 off your first order! (Please note: this code is valid only for US orders and expires on 9/30.)

While I didn't get a chance to check out day one of Outside Lands this past weekend (had to work!), days two and three certainly made up for it! Highlights include (but certainly are not limited to): finally getting to see local SF band, Geographer play, the most amazing truffle oil fries, witnessing my first (and probably only) Metallica concert and an amazing finale set by Stevie Wonder himself.
Stay tuned! Day three outfit coming tomorrow!

Second outfit: Jacket: Zara; Skirt: Topshop; Top: Zara; Bag: borrowed from Brahmin; Shoes: Zara
Nothing really embodies the start of fall like a new bag, no? So when Brahmin asked me to pick a few of my favorites from their fall 2012 collection to borrow -- I happily obliged. After all, I'm certainly not one to turn down an excuse to dress up. Of course, this begs the question though: what would you guys pick from their new line? Any show stoppers I overlooked? Do share!

Don't get me wrong, I love shopping around Union Square -- but I also love escaping the crowds and hopping over to Maiden Lane just as much. It's tucked away from a lot of the tourist-run hustle and bustle and boasts a charming al fresco cafe, usually with a string quartet playing nearby. Quite the breath of fresh air after battling the cable car lines just two steps away -- a little retail retreat, if you will.
Where are some of your favorite mini escape spots in your city?

First outfit: Printed shirt dress; Belt: Gap; Shoes: Miu Miu; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Jewelry: Gorjana "Super Star" necklace c/o; Michael Kors watch; Bag: Vintage
Second outfit: Harper trench; Carlie Silk Shirt; J. Brand jeans c/o; Clutch: Reptile clutch (not available online yet, will update as soon as it is); Shoes: Zara; Sunglasses: Ray-Bans
Don't get me wrong -- I love these dog days of summer when every weekend is planned out for camping, visiting friends or road trips out to ranch weddings and the day itself just seems to drag well on into the evening, perfect for a late dinner and drink rendezvous. But I still get giddy for the coming of fall. Crisp air. Shorter days. The promise of holidays right around the corner. And fall wardrobe shopping. Of course, when Club Monaco tapped me to pick out a few fall favorites from their August collection, which you can see here, I was beyond happy to do so. Their relaxed yet sophisticated city vibe has always resonated well with my style and this fall collection in particular makes for the perfect foundation for fall dressing. Think trench coats with leather touches. Full skirted shirt dresses. And lots of patterned separates that are begging to be mixed, matched or worn together for a little extra oomph
Check out the rest of my outfits and my other fellow style muses on Club Monaco here -- and would love to know, what would you pick from the August collection? Let me know in the comments below!

currently craving: the one that got away

< 1 minute
It's been quite some time since my last "Currently Craving" post, but that isn't to say I haven't been craving! Quite the opposite, actually. And given that the Olympics are now in full swing, I wanted to highlight one of my new favorite London-town designers -- Roksanda Ilincic. You may have seen me practically salivate over her work here, here and most recently yesterday's post included a dress of hers, which you can see here. What you may not know is that back in April, while in LA for the Lucky FABB conference, I tried on a blouse of hers with the most beautiful lantern bell sleeves (seen here) -- but opted to pass on it. I've since then regretted letting it go and now, having spotted this hot pink number (on sale!) with the same swoon-worthy sleeves, I don't think I can let myself make the same mistake twice!
So I turn it over to you, dear readers -- what do you think I should do?

miami swim fashion week {recap}

< 1 minute
It would be a horrible understatement to say that I enjoyed my stay in Miami. I absolutely loved it! From the great company (Laura, Olivia, Erika, Jenni, Rebecca, Daniel and Blake, I'm looking at you!) to the stellar lineup of events, I couldn't have asked for a better time, so many thanks are in order. First, huge thank you to the Sofitel hotel whose hospitality and feather beds put this weary traveler instantly at ease and secondly, to Socialyte, for inviting me out. I hope many more mini van adventures are in our future!
From top left to right:
1.) I experienced a total swoon moment when I found these Tabitha Simmons beauties on sale at the Bal Harbour Shops.
2.) Here comes trouble! Miami partners in crime, Olivia and Laura.
3.) Hanging in South Beach, admiring the boutique hotels.
4.) View from our rooftop brunch at the Soho Beach House.
5.) Cheers! A mid-shopping break for, what else, mango margaritas!
6.) A comfy lounge chair in my hotel room at the Sofitel
7.) Olivia's net-inspired Free People dress. Jealous? Me too.
8.) Poolside lounging at the Sofitel.
9.) Perfect parfait!
10.) A tangerine look from the Style Saves runway show.
11.) My new shoe crush from the Pour La Victoire press preview.
12.) Speaking of shoe crushes, here's a Charlotte Olympia seashell pair, also found on sale at Bal Harbour

Shirt: Zara; Skirt: c/o Banana Republic; Bag: Zara; Hat: J. Crew (similar style here); Sandals: J. Crew; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, Gorjana "Super Star" necklace c/o, Bauble Bar Twitter nameplate necklace
In honor of the weekend now upon us (three cheers!), I wanted to share a look from this past weekend. Fresh off the heels from the Miami heat, it was a bit shocking to actually have to wear longer sleeves back in SF -- but I'l admit, I'm a wimp when it comes to humidity so I was secretly rejoicing. This skirt, thanks to Banana Republic, is currently on my weekend to weekday rotation list -- stay tuned to see how I style it for the office next week! But let's not get ahead of ourselves here -- weekend plans, whose got em? Spill!
