Clearly, I still have Gatsby fever with this trumpet flared dress -- and the fact I have the soundtrack on repeat these days doesn't help! Speaking of which, let's just flashback to 1996 for a moment, when my 10-year-old self begged my mom for the Romeo & Juliet soundtrack. Funny how Leo and Baz strike again, ain't it?

Whew! After a grueling week, I welcome you, Friday, with open arms! To properly kick things off for the weekend, the man friend and I are donning our best to catch a late night showing of The Great Gatsby. Debating if I should just go all out and wear this number again? Thoughts? Would Daisy approve?
On an unrelated note, I'm excited to announce I'll be hosting a little soirée of my own next week with the lovely folks over at Ted Baker, in honor of the company's 25th anniversary. Festivities start at 6 p.m. sharp at the San Francisco flagship store at 80 Grant Avenue, near Union Square, with plenty of drinks on hand. Plus, guests can enjoy 25% off their purchase, storewide. Now the difficult part -- what to wear? I'm torn between this option or this option worn with this
Hope to see my lovely San Francisco readers there! You can RSVP here (which also enters you to be in the running to win a trip to the Highlands of Scotland, two birds, one stone!).

Sometimes, the most simple of outfits are my absolute favorites. Especially when I get to test drive new pieces, like this distressed denim skirt I mentioned the other day. Give me a silky blouse, a pencil skirt and some classic heels and I'm out the door.

After missing out on the distressed denim Acne skirt craze, I stumbled upon this guy on Asos (for a mere fraction of the price). This also made me realize that I haven't worn a denim skirt since my Abercrombie days circa junior year of high school. Talk about blast from the past.
A yummy polenta lunch for Heather's birthday bash out in Napa.
The first round (of many) at said birthday bash.
Someone just discovered how much they love digging. We're working on the not-eating-sand part now.
New Jennifer Zeuner necklaces that I debuted in yesterday's post. Already tempted to get a few more for different layering options.

This weekend was jam packed with, well, champagne actually. Kicking things off on Friday with an impromptu champs catch up session with the girls to a wine country birthday celebration on Saturday, rounded off on Sunday with a slightly hungover brunch (and bottomless guava mimosas to boot) -- I think I might have to take a break from the bubbly for a while.  I know! Blasphemy, right?!

Slight headaches aside though -- how was your weekend?

Was feeling particularly inspired by this look I stumbled upon a few weeks ago -- so really, I couldn't help myself. The overalls had to come back out to play. (Remember how I wore them last time for this moving day look?)

Ah, you caught me! Another black and white combination strikes again -- but I do believe this mint zebra tank is my saving grace, so it kinda gets me off the hook, right? Right? 🙂

I mentioned I might be abusing my black and white combinations as of late and this new jumpsuit of mine was no exception to the mix. Throw in some metallic touches for good measure and I'm out the door! Oh, and be sure to check out how my lovely coworker and good friend Meghan styled her jumpsuit -- now her take is just the inspiration I need to inject more color around these parts. Perhaps next week?

Oh you know, just indulging my crop top obsession lately. I'm a child of the 90s after all.
Are you guys sporting any crop tops? Care to share which ones? I'm smitten with the ones I picked up at American Apparel, but looking for a few patterned ones to wear a la this look from Coachella last year. Too good.

I randomly stumbled across this oldie (but a goodie) pin of TTH this past weekend. While I still like her version better, I'm glad my rendition proved to be a nice break from all the black and white I've been sporting lately.

My silver lining playbook (clutch). A great find I snagged from Sam of Could I Have That? Even though I'm much more of a gold gal, I'm looking forward to styling this guy for spring (perhaps with some pastel looks?).
Speaking of gold -- it's no secret I love gold accents and often make up excuses to sprinkle it around our apartment (like gold necklaces draped atop mirrors).
Finally got around to putting this old guy up on the wall above our couch. You know what they say, home is where your antlers are!
Sneak peak of tomorrow's outfit post, featuring this jacket that I practically never want to take off.
Queen B looking regal in Dior.
On an unrelated and much more serious note, I'd like to send my thoughts and prayers to all those affected by yesterday's Boston Marathon bombings. It's hard to make much sense of such senseless acts of violence like this, but I do hope that you all hug your loved ones a bit longer than you normally would today. Simply because you can.

Just my regular work go-to: statement dress, leather jacket and my shoe of the moment. Am I guilty of abusing this combo? Most definitely. Do I regret it? Not really. I do, however, regret this hair rut I'm in right now. Not sure if I should go shorter or let it grow out a bit -- either way, I'm in dire need of mixing things up. This haphazard ponytail isn't cutting it!

How darling is this palm leaf printed short suit from Joie? I think I need it in my life ASAP (and a ticket to somewhere warm!).

A new-to-me buttery leather jacket -- aka my little slice of heaven.

Meet my new favorite sweater. Slouchy and kinda sexy at the same time. Zara has been killing it lately with their sweater selection. Admittedly, I've been on a Zara fast as of late (recovering addict if you must know), but I'm considering easing back into it after this purchase.

I'm most definitely guilty of judging wines by their labels, but hey, most of the time, I'm right on the money! This Malbec was a steal and delicious to boot.
Cheery orchids on a rather drizzly Sunday.
Latest shoe obsession, thanks to J.Crew. I've been meaning to pick up another pair of leopard heels for a while now and I love the chunkier heel on this pair.

Been having way too much fun picking out puppy gear for our newest addition (coming Saturday!). I mean, this gold trimmed water and food bowl set was made for me and my new pup, right?
Speaking of the puppy, this will be the first pair of shoes I tell him are completely OFF limits. (Another amazing Jeremy's find -- they make me so anxious for spring!)
Attempting my first juice cleanse this week with a few coworkers. I'm excited to try it out but I am honestly a bit scared as to how I might feel at work. Have any of you done a juice cleanse? A few people have told me that they're really good to encourage yourself to get into a healthy lifestyle. One of my friends also advised us that You can buy juice cleanses online to help lose weight. There's no excuse now! If anyone has done a juice clease, have you got any tips?
Pre-juice cleanse treat: a lemon brioche from Jane on Fillmore. Oh, and that cookie behind it? Yeah, that's a salted white chocolate chip and oatmeal cookie, also known as heaven on earth.
