I wore this little number with two purposes in mind: a.) to look somewhat appropriate at work b.) to be able to leave work and meet up with the boyfriend at an art festival downtown. I've never really pictured myself sporting a plaid shirt quite like this, but once I threw it on, I liked how it was a funky, (albeit grungy) contrast to typical go-to little black dress.
The fedora on the other hand, because I can't lie here, was a little less organic and more a product of bad hair that morning with little time to fix it. Which reminds me, after looking through some of these past outfit photos, I need to start styling my hair. I swear, I don't always wear it in a messy bun/ponytail. Sometimes, I actually look like I care. Promise. Sometimes. Not all the time. But sometimes.
Happy Fourth of July everyone! Hope the weekend treats you beautifully with good weather and even better company! I'm off to pick out a red, white and blue outfit (for Weardrobe's weekly contest) and then heading up to Lake Tahoe for some river rafting and BBQ adventures.

You totally should. It's crazy how easy this is to pull off, not to mention, you can still go out at night by just taking off the flannel. It's so versatile!
I love the fun, casual look of this! I might try it out with one of my tube dresses.
