Trench coat: Burberry (borrowed); Jeans: DL1961; Shoes: Saint Laurent; Sunglasses: Ray-Ban; Shirt: St. John; Bag: Chanel
When I was apartment hunting in New York back in March, I remember passing a film crew on Perry Street here in the West Village. At the time, I didn't realize how commonplace this really is -- and immediately wanted to peek over to see if I recognized any of the actors. Unfortunately, I didn't see any familiar faces, but I do remember being very impressed by how well they had transformed this adorable brownstone walk up, once covered in snow and ice, to look like it was in the midst of spring. All ice and snow had been cleared, fake flowers filled the window planters in front and an actor hired as the mailman was in shorts. SHORTS, people. In March.
Where am I going with this story? Well when this beautiful trench coat from Burberry showed up a few weeks ago for a shoot, I was hesitant to throw it on, given that our humidity and heat is pretty unforgiving here at the moment. But then I thought of that poor actor turned mailman. And what a trooper he was. So I thought, if he can grin and bear it in temps hovering around the 20s, well then I shouldn't let this borrowed trench coat slip out of my hands without donning it a few times.
