Longtime readers might recognize this outfit as somewhat familiar.

Back when I worked in a more corporate (albeit casual) environment, I collected my fair share of blazers and usually a matching pant (bonus points if it came in a fun, poppy color or print). When I wasn't reaching for both pieces for a matchy, matchy moment, 9 times out of 10 I was pairing said blazer with a midi dress of some sort.

Lately, with the resurgence of slip dresses (because hello 90s), I've been dipping my toe back in and love how versatile this blazer + dress combo feels for a day of meetings that could easily turn into happy hour cocktails or date night. I know at this point, the idea of desk to drinks outfit stories can feel a bit ad nauseam, so I'll keep things short and sweet and suggest you try a fun color combo next time: pair your neutral blazers (tans, creams etc.) with a summery sorbet color: ice blue, pistachio green or perhaps a lavender. The effect is utterly refreshing and perfect for the end of summer office days.

As for this blazer, I myself realized I was sorely lacking in the tan/cream/beige blazer department when the folks over at Lafayette 148 reached out to me about working together on a new blazer initiative they have running at the moment. In celebration of their iconic blazer (and the women who have worn it over the years), Lafayette 148 will be donating $10 to the School of Dreams for every comment left using the dedicated hashtag #Trailblazers on Instagram. Of course, once I started researching what the School of Dreams is all about, I instantly wanted to share it with you all!

Started by the co-founder of Lafayette 148 Shun Yen Siu, School of Dreams offers an exceptional subsidized private education to its students in Siu's hometown of Shantou, China. Curriculum focuses on high caliber academics, as well as robust athletic and artistic departments, with many students returning over the years as mentors to younger children. Aside from the obvious positive repercussions here, I suppose I just love the idea of someone going back to their hometown to pay their success forward to a future generation.

Are there any charities you've recently discovered that you'd like to share! I always love hearing about new ones!
