When I first moved to New York, I wasn't quite sure how my hair would behave. Being raised in Nevada, where the most humidity I encountered was during summer thunderstorms (and trust me, those weren't humid) and then hopping over to SF, where the air was often cold and damp with fog, my hair's never really had to deal with thick, muggy heat before.
My hair is relatively dry to begin with and is prone to frizzy flyaways -- something I've struggled with my whole life (it doesn't help that I have a ton of it either). So when it comes to my shampoo and conditioner routine, I typically look for products that pack a little extra moisture punch so to speak.
Luckily, I have a few New Yorkers here who were able to help out with my search (Christine, I'm looking at you) -- which is where NEXXUS comes in. When I first moved out here, I literally had one suitcase to my name, which contained bits and pieces of my life that would have to last me until the rest of my stuff showed up with the movers a week later. Yep. This means I didn't have a bed. I didn't have plates to eat off of. I didn't even have a wine key! (Clearly, my priorities were all mixed up when I was packing).
That's when Christine showed up. With an inflatable mattress and a bottle of champagne with several glasses to toast my new place with (and we then promptly went out for pizza afterward). Over the next few days, she'd pop in to see if I needed anything, sometimes just dropping things off as she went, including an extra set of NEXXUS shampoo and conditioner that she had scooped up after a recent visit to their New York salon (don't you just love friends that give you extra samples/products?).
I had heard good things about their product lines had never tried them myself so I was excited to give it a go. I was immediately hooked. NEXXUS's oil-infused line is perfect for someone with as dry and coarse of hair like mine -- but doesn't weigh anything down, which is a concern I have since I have really thick hair that I like to curl pretty often. Since then, I've tried out their Oil Infinite Nourishing Hair Oil as an all over finishing touch when I get out of the shower and I'll even bring it with me during the day to use on just my ends to smooth out any flyaways.
Have you guys tried any of their products? What are your thoughts? And dry haired girls -- I especially want to hear from you!
