wednesday wishlist

< 1 minute

It's funny how something like decorating a room never feels quite done. There's always something to change, modify, add or just rearrange completely. Much like personal style, interior decor seems to constantly evolve with a person over time.

Disclaimer aside, here are just a few things I've been craving to add to my apartment lately, you know, to spruce and liven things up a bit.

1.) Horse lamp, Room Service, $245
2.) Brass legs, Kelly Wearstler, $1,495
3.) Kostick foldable star sculpture, Design Within Reach, $22 - $160
4.) Letter pillow, Jonathan Adler, $110
5.) Brass bar cart, The Furniture Butler, $1,070
6.) Vintage Vogue covers, Conde Nast Store, $125

Oh, and if you're in need of a small break from work today, check out my interview with Teen Vogue!

Shirt: J. Crew (similar style here); Skirt: J. Crew; Shoes: Zara; Jacket: Zara; Bag: c/o Lodis; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Jewelry: bubble bangles c/o Bauble Bar; J. Crew chain necklace

Highlights of the weekend:
1.) Pumpkin pie
2.) Long afternoon drives around SF looking for apartments to rent
3.) Too many rounds of Words with Friends
4.) Movie night, every single night (highly recommend J. Edgar and Life in a Day)
5.) Pumpkin pie leftovers
6.) Picking up a new suit for the man friend, which you may have seen on Instragram here
7.) And then picking up this little number for myself
8.) Feeling so incredibly thankful for everything
9.) Did I mention pumpkin pie?

How was your weekend?

Sweater: H&M; Pants: Club Monaco (similar style here); Shoes: Christian Louboutin; Bag: c/o Foley + Corinna; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, mesh bracelet c/o JewelMint; bubble bangles c/o Bauble Bar; Forever21 rhinestone bracelet

Inspired by my first Black Friday outfit (read: pajamas, gotta love online sales!) I threw on something comfortable and oversized for some running around Union Square today. My plan off attack? Hitting up J. Crew, Zara, Barney's and finishing up at Neimans. And probably dropping the man friend off at a food court along the way.

How about you guys? Any good sales you absolutely can't miss today? Do share!

In honor of wearing something relaxed and comfortable today, I figured I would do a roundup post of some of my MVP trousers. If you've been reading This Time Tomorrow for a while now, you know I have an unhealthy, borderline obsessive, relationship with ankle cropped trousers (the bolder the print or the color, the better!). And after swinging by J. Crew last night  (a pit stop on my hunt to find a pair of leather pants) I found myself trying on yet another pair of their oh-so-perfect cropped Cafe Capri pants. Old habits die hard, but hey, if it works, it works, right?

Right? Right? (taps microphone) This thing on?

Anyway, hope you're all safe and enjoying a beautiful Thanksgiving with friends and family!

Finally scooped up some turtlenecks over the weekend and can't stop layering them under everything! Dresses, button front shirts, blouses, you name it, I've probably tried it (much to the confusion of the man friend).

How about you guys? Been layering turtlenecks lately? Any styling tips you'd like to share?

This furry bundle of a jacket couldn't have arrived at a better time. We just had one of our chilliest weekends yet (with off and on temperamental downpour). All of this was fine by me of course -- spent lots of time catching up on neglected reading, watching movies in bed and partaking in the occasional hot chocolate (or two).

How was your weekend? Ready for the next one? It's right around the corner (thank goodness)!

Refinery29: Girls of Google

I've been practically sitting on my hands, waiting to reveal this fun photo shoot Refinery29 did with some of us stylish gals on campus and now look at me, already a few days behind! If you haven't checked it out yet, I recommend you do, if nothing else for a fun little peek into the at-times strange place that is the Google campus out in Mountain View. A few of my lovely coworkers and I cruised around with the Refinery29 crew showing them the sights, the food and, yes, even the 7-person conference bike. Interested? Then I suggest you click, click, click!

In other news, I will be announcing a winner later today for my Sachin + Babi giveaway, so you have a few hours left to enter. (So what are you waiting for, scoot!)

Can't get enough of contrasting textures lately -- especially leather accents with silk, jersey or, in this case with the vest, khaki. It's just the right balance of luxe and edge to elevate any outfit, even if you have to take matters into your own hands, like I did here, by layering the vest over the jacket. My next texture combo? Leather and tweed. Yes, please!

What texture combinations are you guys craving these days?

pep in your step

Dress: Tracy Reese (this chevron dress is pretty darling too); Shoes: Yves Saint Laurent; Purse: Thrifted; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, J. Crew chain bracelet

Despite what my current wardrobe might indicate most days (i.e. strong tendency to wear trousers and silk button down collared blouses), I actually have an undeniable soft spot for dresses like the one above, you know, the kind that demand twirling pretty much everywhere you go. OK, not everywhere you go, I'd hate to think of all the buses, not to mention meetings, you would miss because of that, but you get the idea. Obligatory twirling, time and public transportation permitting.

Any special pieces that just put a pep in your step?

wednesday giveaway!

< 1 minute

Need a little Wednesday boost to the spirits? Yeah. Me too. Lucky for you, the lovely folks over at Sachin + Babi have just the ticket to turn your proverbial frown upside down -- a new pair of earrings! But not just any earrings, mind you.

These earrings double as weaponry for your ears, which let's all be honest here, seems to be a seriously lacking in the realm of jewelry arsenal. Sure, there are spiked cuffs and brass knuckle-esque rings, but earrings? Now those could definitely come in handy as they come with the element of surprise.

But enough of my rambling, right? How do you win these beauties? Just a few simple steps because, well, I like to keep things easy.

1.) Like Sachin + Babi on Facebook
2.) Comment here on this post on This Time Tomorrow
3.) Cross your fingers until next Wednesday, November 16th when I will randomly select a winner from the comments section!

Extra details: International readers welcome to enter! Comment away and good luck!
UPDATE: The contest is now closed! The lucky winner, thanks to Random.Org, is commenter #18, aka Elyse! Elyse, I'll be emailing you shortly to get your mailing address and thanks to everyone who entered!

frames for your face

2 minute read

All photos by Kim

As someone who has just recently begun to grow out her bangs, I'm the first to admit I had grown accustomed to being pretty hands off about my eyebrow upkeep (read: downright lazy -- hey, they were tucked behind some heavy fringe after all). Luckily while I was in New York for Fashion Week a couple of months back now, Kim and I had the chance to visit the kind and knowledgable folks over at Shobha, to whip me back into tip-top eyebrow shape.

Not only was the experience all together painless (I had my doubts about threading, trust me) but their staff was very quick to explain everything in detail, step by step to help me better understand how to literally frame my face with a few, very simple eyebrow shaping tips. This being my first threading appointment, I can safely say I'll be on the hunt for a good salon in my neck of the woods in San Francisco (and, of course, visit Shobha when I'm back in NYC)!

Huge thanks to Heather from Shobha for inviting Kim and I out. Amazing how a little pampering goes a long way, right?

How about you guys? Have any eyebrow maintenance tips? Or perhaps threading salons you swear by?

After my first foray into the colored denim territory here, I was happy to help J. Brand spread the word about their new colored skinny denim line for City Year. In autumn-worthy hues like this vine green I'm sporting above coupled by the fact that 100% of the net proceeds will go toward helping to reduce high school drop out rates, it's a great excuse to stock up on some new fall pairs, (I've got my eye now on this warm plumberry pair).

How about you guys? Scooping up any colored denim this fall? What colors?

odds and ends

Just a few snaps from around my apartment. Stay tuned for more later!

1.) Who doesn't love having fresh flowers around? I swear I make up excuses sometimes to go buy new batches.
2.) The ever growing bracelet, watch and sunglass collection. Oddly enough though, I've found myself in a bit of a sunglass rut as of late -- any suggestions for a new pair? I think I may have worn my Karen Walkers to death.
3.) Shoe candy! Sometimes shoes make for better decor than anything else.
