Inspired by my first Black Friday outfit (read: pajamas, gotta love online sales!) I threw on something comfortable and oversized for some running around Union Square today. My plan off attack? Hitting up J. Crew, Zara, Barney's and finishing up at Neimans. And probably dropping the man friend off at a food court along the way.

Finally scooped up some turtlenecks over the weekend and can't stop layering them under everything! Dresses, button front shirts, blouses, you name it, I've probably tried it (much to the confusion of the man friend).

This furry bundle of a jacket couldn't have arrived at a better time. We just had one of our chilliest weekends yet (with off and on temperamental downpour). Sugary sweet colors to kick off this Monday! And boy, it's going to be a busy one!

Can't get enough of contrasting textures lately -- especially leather accents with silk, jersey or, in this case with the vest, khaki. It's just the right balance of luxe and edge to elevate any outfit, even if you have to take matters into your own hands, like I did here, by layering the vest over the jacket. My next texture combo? Leather and tweed. Yes, please!

Despite what my current wardrobe might indicate most days (i.e. strong tendency to wear trousers and silk button down collared blouses), I actually have an undeniable soft spot for dresses like the one above, you know, the kind that demand twirling pretty much everywhere you go. OK, not everywhere you go, I'd hate to think of all the buses, not to mention meetings, you would miss because of that, but you get the idea. Obligatory twirling, time and public transportation permitting.

Ever since witnessing Taylor Tomasi Hill's uncanny ability to make a cow sweater look chic, I've been on the hunt for a quirky animal pullover myself. Unsurprisingly, Zara came through (yet again) for me, further cementing my belief they can do no wrong. Seriously. No wrong.

After my first foray into the colored denim territory here, I was happy to help J. Brand spread the word about their new colored skinny denim line for City Year. In autumn-worthy hues like this vine green I'm sporting above coupled by the fact that 100% of the net proceeds will go toward helping to reduce high school drop out rates, it's a great excuse to stock up on some new fall pairs, (I've got my eye now on this warm plumberry pair).
