I recently posted about how I'm trying to sport more of my cardigans backwards these days (unfortunately, I can't take credit for this genius idea but this gal can!). Surprisingly, it wasn't until a few days ago that I seemed to have stumbled upon a silhouette I really love -- the one you see above. When paired with a sleek, more form fitting maxi skirt, it's deceivingly demure from the front, and a proverbial party in the back -- a mullet of an outfit, if you will, and I'm kind of obsessed with it!

Next steps? Must find a weighty necklace to sport backwards like this little number. Any recs?

I've probably said this before, but I'll reiterate it again: This is my kind of no-fuss outfit: cropped trousers, somewhat sheer patterned blouse and classic heels. It's the MVP, if you will, of my outfit repertoire and never fails to leave me feeling pulled together with time to spare in the morning.

And these pants? Well they're almost in a league of their own at this point -- quite the unsung hero of my fancy pant collection.

I've been stalking this dress for forever now and finally pulled the trigger once it was marked down during an incredible sale over at Opening Ceremony (big thanks to my Twitter friends, who helped me track it down!). And while I was planning on properly photographing it this weekend (read: not taking photos before I bolt out the door to catch a bus to work) I just couldn't help myself! Don't you just love pieces that make you feel like it's Christmas morning every time you wear them?

After my week-long foray into color and patterns, San Francisco's somewhat gloomy weather has me reaching for my trusty black and white basics. Basics can sometimes get a bad rap for being, well, too basic, but I think they make for the perfect opportunities to debut your more daring accessories. Case in point? These wrist cuffs recently turned ankle cuffs.

After this citrusy yellow outfit a couple weeks ago, I think it's safe to say I've found a new color I can't stop wearing! This, of course, only leads to me to busting out more colorful footwear as well, as evidenced by these tribal-esque Pronezas (another great sale find!).

Any colors you can't get enough of lately? My other color crush of the moment is mint green but I'm having a hard time finding it right now in stores. Any tips/leads?

Dress: Halston Heritage "Carrie" dress (scored at Crossroads!); Sandals: J. Crew; Hat: H&M (similar style here); Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Bag: Zara; Jewelry: Rachel Reinhardt, assorted gifted bangles

I've been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear this Halston Heritage dress I scored at Crossroads a few months back (ahem, original tags on and all!) and admittedly, have been rather impatient with our finicky San Francisco weather. I did want to go whale watching California style, but that's being left for another day.

Of course, when we decided to head out for a day of whale watching around the island of Molokini and then go out for a molokini snorkeling tour -- I figured this was my chance to stretch my resort-wear legs, figuratively speaking. The dress itself calls to mind some of my favorite glam ladies of yore (Bianca Jagger, Angelica Huston and naturally, Miss Bradshaw herself in the not-so-fortunate SATC sequel) but I think the earthy tone necklace and straw panama hat help ground it, fitting for a day out at sea. And naturally, I could just as easily see myself wearing this number with some strappy heels (heck, maybe even this pair) which is always a win in my book!

Hope you're all having a wonderful week so far!

As you may have overheard on Twitter, I'm currently enjoying some gloriously sunny weather down in Maui at the moment (my first time ever to Hawaii, in fact!) And I can't help it really, I just love that you can take something so polished and pulled together like a professional, work-appropriate suit and practically turn it on it's head with color or pattern choice.

Do you guys rock matchy-matchy suits? Would love to see how you style yours!

I still have to pinch myself, even when typing it out!) For those of you in the San Francisco area, I highly recommend you check out Saks' consolidation sale going on right now. How was your weekend? Hit up any good sales?

evening to remember: the lab event

2 minute read

Photo credits from the top: Natalie of Like Fresh Laundry, Jason Perry, my lovely boyfriend for the close up runway shots and Jason Perry again for the confetti action shots

I must say getting to strut in some of the most gorgeous wedding dresses around is not a bad way to spend your Saturday. And this past Saturday, I got to do just that. This weekend's The Lab Event, a unique, off the beaten path approach to bridal fairs, was as beautiful and downright inspiring as I had hoped it to be -- not to mention, just plain fun! Armed with music, delicious snacks and, of course, plenty of wine smack dab in the middle of wine country, I had one of the best nights ever and I just want to thank the lovely gals behind this successful event for inviting me to join and walk the runway (in Sarah Seven dresses, no less!).

Still not convinced you can have fun at a bridal event? Well did I mention there was a confetti canon? No, I didn't? Well, there was a confetti canon. Or two. And. It. Was. Epic.

Also, be sure to check out the recap posts by my partners (and fellow models) in crime: Taylor, Natalie, Erin, Anne and Britt + Whit.

saturday musings: a perfect pair

I've been crushing on stylist Caroline Sieber's style sense for a while now, having recently developed a slight obsession with her knack for incorporating boucle touches into her outfits. (I would expect no less, she is a Chanel brand ambassador after all!) Of course, combined with my love of matching suit separates, I am now on the hunt for the perfect boucle skirt suit, with this Topshop beauty at the top of my wish list.

As for the shoes? Well, I believe they speak for themselves.

Sometimes, after wearing so much color and print (like yesterday's post) you just need a slight detox -- a neutral cleansing palate almost. Some key accessories and, of course, shoes with personality will keep the otherwise basic outfit interesting.

In other news, I'd like to announce the winner of three tickets to this Saturday's The Lab event, where yours truly will be strutting down the runway! So without further ado, Haley of Colortree, I hope your Saturday is free, because you have a date with some of the Bay Area's most trend-setting wedding vendors! Plus, we'll be hanging out in a barrel room at the beautiful Cline Cellars, not bad, huh?

Congratulations Haley, please email me ASAP and thanks to everyone who entered!

For those of you in the area and who didn't win -- fret not! You can still snag tickets here.

Yes, after much debate and self-reflection, I chopped my hair off. About 12 inches to be exact. Only took me about a year to get enough guts to do it -- but if you know me, that's about par for the course.

My hairdresser, Deb, over at Devil's Hairhouse in the Mission (SF ladies and gents, I highly recommend this gal -- she knows her stuff!) was completely patient with me as I pulled up about 20 inspiration photos from my Pinterest folders. My top contenders were Arizona Muse and Alexa Chung on the shorter, more layered side and Vogue's Sylvana Ward Durret on the longer, blunter side. As you can see, we leaned more toward the shorter version, because it put me right over the mark to donate my hair, which I've always wanted to do.

While I'm still in a bit of scissor shock, I think it's starting to grow on me! Plus, I'm starting to see the beauty of earrings and strapless dresses in a whole new light. Isn't it amazing how hair can literally transform how you feel in certain accessories and necklines?

the lab event: a giveaway!

2 minute read

Ah, back to work today after a relaxing, much needed break! But in the spirit of giving (hey, the spirit can live on after Christmas, right? Well it should!), I have a lovely little giveaway for you! As some of you may have overheard me say on Twitter, I'll be walking the runway alongside some of my favorite bloggers (pictured in the sneak peek Instagram shots above) at The Lab Event, a unique kind of bridal fair featuring only the best, trend-setting wedding industry professionals from Northern California.

The Big Day, ahem, the event will be held on January 14 in Sonoma at the beautiful Cline Cellars winery and I have three, yes, three tickets for you! Getting married soon? Maid of Honor duties sneaking up on you? Or perhaps you just have a thing for pretty dresses? Well here's how to win:

1.) Like This Time Tomorrow on Facebook
2.) Leave a comment below describing your favorite wedding memory (can be your own wedding or one you attended).
3.) I'll be drawing a winner at random on Tuesday, January 10, so make sure to check back!

Good luck, ladies!
