'Tis the season for giving.
Now that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind us, I think it's really important to remember that today is Giving Tuesday. A day not about gifting ourselves and our loved ones, but for thinking about others, and issues larger than us. Of course, it can get overwhelming this time of year trying to decide where to invest your time and efforts so I wanted to put together an easy cheat sheet of amazing charities and organizations, based on your general interests. Also, if there's a charity that's caught your eye, you can always research it's history, financing and year over year contributions, as well as it's general ranking amongst other charities similar to it using this index. Each is provided a grade, so you can get a good idea how effectively your money may be put to use, before you contribute.
My favorites are below, with their Charity Watch grades noted when available as well.

Thank you so much for bringing attention to such an amazing, inspiring day!
Tunnel2Towers organization really hits home for me. It was created in honor of Stephen Siller, an off duty firefighter who ran through the Battery Tunnel on 9/11 and made the ultimate sacrifice. His brothers started the foundation and gives back to our veteran and military heroes, first responders, and their families. They build smart homes at NO cost to our injured vets in hopes they can return to a “normal life”, provide mortgage-free homes to fallen heroes families, and SO MUCH MORE. They even provided so much relief after Hurricane Sandy, and even gifted a smart home to a boy on Staten Island with an extremely rare/painful skin disease. Their mission is to keep their brother’s legacy alive and never forget about those protecting us. I think 94% of proceeds go DIRECTLY towards aid and programs — so unbelievable! (CLEARLY I’M PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS, lol)

I love the dress!
My favorite charity, and one that we tend to support every year is Appalachian Bear Rescue (http://appalachianbearrescue.org/) They rescue, rehabilitate, and then release injured and orphaned black bear cubs. They have a great Facebook page where you can follow along as the bears “chubbify” and are then released back to the wild.
That is a good list to give too! I am also donating to cancer research! There are a few organizations that I have in mind! And this dress is gorgeous!

First of all, let me just get this out of the way: how you manage to find ANOTHER adorable as heck polka dot dress is beyond me. I LOVED the previous blue one you wore but I think I might adore this more because it’s long-sleeved and maxi and as a hijabi, I can absolutely picture myself wearing this! I also think it’s fantastic that you and your girlfriends are so generous about sharing your beautiful clothes.
It’s so amazing of you to draw attention to charity, right around the time when people are going crazy spending money on clothes that they mostly do not need. I love shopping myself too, of course! This isn’t about making people feel guilty over their spendings (hey, everyone deserves a treat-yoself experience once in a while) but it’s good to be reminded that we should be thankful for what we have and be thoughtful about those who have a lot less.
I love it when my favourite bloggers take time out of their day to advocate selflessness. I am inspired to do my part on this even more now.
