Valentino studded wedge, via Farfetch, $596
Oh, how the sales this time of year tempt me! These studded beauties above are no exception and have been camping out in their own browser tab the past few days, sandwiched between work tabs of course. While I'll probably sit this pair out (still secretly wishing that their kitten heel counterpart will be going on sale) I like to visit them just the same -- online window shopping, if you will.
Drop Waist Dress from Topshop, $84
I don't know what it is exactly about this dress -- perhaps the bold red color or the fact it has the most darling dropped waist frill -- but I just can't wait to wear it out for summer drinks and dinners. Perfect with a great pair of dangly statement earrings and strappy heels, no?
On an unrelated note, thanks for all the kind words and feedback about yesterday's hair tutorial post! I'm so glad it was helpful and I'll definitely have to consider incorporating more daily routine tutorials in the future. A beauty routine, perhaps? Yay or nay?
Isabel Marant Rio chain-strapped leather sandals, available at Net-A-Porter, on sale for $623
Two great things about this week: the first, and the obvious one, is that it's lacking a certain workday called "Monday" and the second, which may be even more obvious to you, is Net-A-Porter's amazing (read: dangerous) sale going on right now. The above beauties are just a few of the pairs that are currently keeping each other company in my online cart.
Seriously, if you haven't had a chance to check out this sale yet, I highly recommend you take an extra long lunch break today. You'll thank me later.
And on that note: happy (almost) weekend everyone!
10 Crosby by Derek Lam "Sunlight Stripe" pants, on sale at Barneys for $229
With vacation on the brain, I know I should be looking for more sundresses and breezy shorts -- but I can't seem to stop coming back to this sunny pair of wide leg trousers by 10 Crosby. I just love the horizontal stripe action going on here and could see them fitting in nicely with silky tanks and collared blouses alike (topped off with a straw panama hat!). Plus, I'm on a yellow and white binge right now -- my new favorite summer color combination.
Make Headlines Travel Edition Magazine Clutch, Kate Spade, $298
There may or may not have been a surprise sample sale yesterday over at KateSpade.com, during which, I may or may not have scooped up this magazine-esque gem of a clutch. Is it just me, or is Kate Spade killing it recently with quirky clutches? First the newspaper clutch, now this travel magazine one? Other favorites on my radar include this hardback book style beauty and this pool-printed one (complete with a pool ladder clasp!).
How about you guys? Kitschy clutches, yay or nay?
Elizabeth & James drapey feather blazer, $665
The perfect twist to an otherwise classic white blazer? Put some feathers on it! Yes, please!
Moto Bleached jeans from Topshop, $70
I think with a few more rips and tears, this already broken in pair of jeans from Topshop will be a nice (and much more affordable) alternative to the already infamous Acne pair. What do you guys think? DIY time?
While I won't be taking the plunge on this dress anytime soon, I can't help but smile because of it. After all, it does bring to mind a certain viral video, no? And what's not to love about that, right?
Happy Wednesday everyone!
1.) Hanne Gaby Odiele, Derek Lam Fall 2012 RTW; 2.) Street style shot from Paris Fashion Week; 3.) My girl crush Taylor Tomas Hill
I know I should be savoring the moment upon us -- that being spring but I just can't seem to stop thinking about fall trends! I have two things to blame for this: 1.) Seems like winter finally reared its ugly head here in San Francisco. We've had nothing but rain, rain rain all week! 2.) The micro-trend you see above: cropped wide leg pants! We all know I'm a sucker for cropped trousers so, of course, after seeing some street style darlings rock this trend, I couldn't help myself -- I was smitten! It's the perfect blend of menswear and quirk that I just can't get enough of.
And after digging around a bit on the interwebs, I found a few beauties to help you recreate the look yourself, should you feel so inclined.
1.) Nanette Lepore // 2.) Camilla and Marc // 3.) The Row // 4.) Sonia Rykiel // 5.) Asos
Stella McCartney skirt, via The Outnet (at a steal of a price, too!)
I know you guys don't need me to tell you how The Outnet opened the flood gates of awesomeness a few weeks ago with their Stella McCartney collection. While many of the pieces are oh-so-tempting, I had my eye on the prize (aka the Spring 2011 beauty above) and luckily pounced before they sold out. Oranges and lemons in skirt form? Oh, yes please! After all, a little Vitamin C goes a long way.
And on that note, I hope you all have a wonderful, sun-filled weekend!
1.) Moonlight Mile Necklace, Lizzie Fortunato Jewels, available at Charm & Chain
2.) Labyrinth Maze Collar, Fallon, available at Charm & Chain
3.) Airtex Leather Shirt Collar, Asos
4.) Naomi Necklace, Dannijo, available at Charm & Chain
After seeing more than a few choker style necklaces in the spring and summer collections, I can't seem to stop scooping these guys up. It started out at H&M (which has an awesome assortment right now, by the way) and now I'm being drawn to more intricate, even playful styles (like that leather collar you see above).
Sure, it's a bit of a 90s flashback, but I like how modern these pieces feel. How about you guys? Craving any chokers for fall?
