If you happened to have picked up a copy of "How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are" when it hit stands last summer, you may recall this little gem of a quote:
"Be thankful that you always wear nice lingerie -- you never know what might happen."

And I have to admit, as I get older and am in the process of really streamlining my wardrobe, I think there's a lot of truth to that, and not necessarily in the sense of being prepared for, well, perhaps the obvious portion of that statement. (Are we blushing yet?)
Instead, I think there's something undeniably sexy about sneaking in that extra layer of lace/mesh/silk under an outfit that can pack such a little confidence boost to the day, even if no other eyes than your own see it. Like a literal trick up your sleeve, so to speak, that only you know about. 
If you've been following along on Instagram, you probably have noticed I've been all about peek-a-boo lace these days. Peeking out from under dresses, low cut tanks, you name it. Recent favorites include this bodysuit by Anine Bing (which I'm starting to realize can go under pretty much everything!) and these sets (here and here) by Agent Provocateur. They add just the right amount of spice for creating new, dainty necklines to old tops and now that we're in full on summer mode, they're the perfect companion to all the slightly sheer, breezy dresses we'll inevitably be reaching for once the temps spike up.
