When I first wore this outfit a few weeks back for the long Memorial Day weekend, someone left a comment on Instagram saying that it reminded them of one of Holly Golightly's outfits in Breakfast at Tiffanys. If you recall, when she first meets her neighbor Paul, she's frantically getting dressed for her weekly visit out to Sing Sing -- first emerging half awake in an oversized men's shirt then later, in an elegant black tea-length dress and wide brim hat. Of course, they then look for her missing alligator shoe together, before she skips out to deliver the weekly "weather report" to a certain Sally Tomato.

I have to admit, while I'll always be a sucker for her opening scene in front of Tiffany's, I do love this particular sequence, especially when she out whistles George Peppard's character for a cab. Talk about a girl after my own heart.
