for the beauty enthusiast {l’occibox}

2 minute read
If you're like me, you have quite a few beauty junkies in your life. Coworkers, friends, family members. And if you're also like me, you may not be a self proclaimed beauty junkie yourself. Let's just say, when I find things that work for me, I stick with them and tend to get overwhelmed by having too many options, unless one comes highly recommended by a friend. And that friend is usually a said beauty junkie.
So the catch 22 here? What do you get the beauty junkie in your life who's usually telling you what to get for your top shelf? Cue L'Occibox. Brought to you by the folks at L'Occitane, L'Occibox is a clever take on the beauty sampling program, curating to bring their best and latest products directly to your bathroom shelf. Plus, if you've never tried the brand before, it's a great way to experience it (all products are travel size) and for only $15 a piece, it's easy to stock up on two or three (or in my case, five).
This inaugural set kicks off with a special collaboration with Elle Magazine, who contributed the beyond cute travel pouch you see here, nail file and the illustration hand cream tubes. You can snag a set for yourself, I mean, for those friends on your list right this way (just make sure to enter the code "DISCOVER" at checkout).

one for you, two for me {holiday gift guide}

I'm a classic procrastinator when it comes to holiday gift shopping. Don't get me wrong, I usually get the big ones out of the way during my travels (I'm looking at you, Mom and Dad), but when it comes to my close friends, I tend to rely on a tightly curated list of my favorite items throughout the year, which makes shopping at the zero hour relatively simple. Here's a peek at what I'm stocking up on for my friends (and if you happen to be peeking here dear friends, stop reading now). 🙂

let’s hear it for the boys {holiday gift guide}

< 1 minute
You didn't think I would leave the boys out of the picture, did you? I know the guys in my life can be tricky to shop for so hopefully this little roundup helps you in your search. And if all else fails, just remember, pretty much anything from J.Crew is sure to please. Especially that yummy sweater! Might have to pick up the man friend an extra Christmas present this year...

coffee table junkie {holiday gift guide}

< 1 minute
If you're like me, you have someone (or a few) on your list this year who make an Olympic sport out of decorating (and redecorating) their coffee tables. You know the one. Always fresh flowers set out on the table. Collecting curious odds and ends to top her constant in flux magazines. And of course, the true pièce de résistance -- the hardcover book eye candy. As a self-proclaimed book worm myself, I love getting books (all kinds really!) at Christmas, especially ones that I can curl up with, coffee in hand, and flip through for hours. Here are a few I already have bookmarked (har, har) for a few friends -- how about you? Any favorites you've been meaning to check off your reading list lately?

one for me, two for you {holiday gift guide}

To be perfectly honest, I'm a last-minute shopper. Guilty as charged. No matter how good my intentions are each year to "start earlier" and check off my list at the beginning of December, I usually still find myself at the 11th hour, running around like mad. And if we're being even more honest, I kind of like it. There's something about the dashing around, staying up late to wrap while blasting Christmas music that really pumps my holiday spirits into overdrive. Dizzying, yes. But oh so worth it!
Luckily, when it comes to shopping for my friends, I've developed a little trick (albeit a selfish one) over the years. Since most of my girlfriends share my same affinity for pretty oddities, delicate jewelry and coffee table book fodder, my wish list often mirrors their wish list. I just have to make sure I stick to my golden ratio each time -- one for me, two for someone else!
Stayed tuned -- I'll be sharing more gift guides over the next couple of weeks.
