A thank you note + $1,000 shopping spree giveaway!

3 minute read

[row][half]

Wow, it's been some week so far!

First, I just wanted to say how much I appreciated all your comments, emails and thoughts regarding Monday's reader survey results post. It was beyond amazing to hear that you found the process and the insights just as helpful as I did -- and I hope to continue surveys like that moving forward. I loved hearing all your ideas, both the positive and the constructive feedback, as it helps me build out content for the year ahead that we all can enjoy!

Secondly, as a small token of my appreciation for those who participated and tuned in, I'm giving away a $1,000 shopping spree to one lucky reader! This giveaway is not sponsored by any outside brand or company -- I'm simply purchasing a prepaid Visa gift card with my own money -- as a way of giving back to you all. When I started this blog over 8 years ago, I had no idea it would lead me down the path I'm now on -- a reality that I often have to pinch myself over. And it wouldn't be possible without the support and guidance from you all. The fact we can have such an open and trusting dialogue, like the one from last week's survey, means the world to me. So for that, THANK YOU.

You can enter the giveaway by simply typing your email address in the widget below. For additional entries, make sure to follow the prompts that come up afterward -- I'll be giving 5 additional entries for following along on Instagram.

I'll be selecting 1 winner at random next Wednesday, January 24 at 12pm EST and will announce here, on Instagram and on Instagram Stories.

Best of luck and, as if I haven't said it enough, THANK YOU for your support!

1.) Trench coat, Topshop; 2.) Tweed top, 3.1 Phillip Lim; 3.) Solid dress, Karen Walker; 4.) Three tone court shoe, Chloe; 5.) Balenciaga perfume; 6.) Luggage tote, Celine; 7.) Pencil skirt, Proenza Schouler

In need of a pick me up? Well look no further! I've teamed up with the lovely team at Beso to give one lucky reader a $300 mini shopping spree (yes, you read right, $300 mini shopping spree)! If you're like me, you've probably made a very small, negligible dent into your holiday shopping (hey, it's not my fault most items I found on Black Friday magically came in my size, right?). Luckily, at Beso, I've been able to organze my Christmas wish lists and will soon be encouraging certain family members and friends to make theirs, so I can take a peek at what they really want this year. That means, no more gift cards bought out of desperation!

So without further ado, how do you win? It's simple really:
1.) Like Beso's Facebook page here
2.) Leave a comment below and let me know what you really hope to find under your Christmas tree this year.
3.) Listen to some holiday music (or not, but hey, why not? 'Tis the season and all!)

Oh, and the fine print:
1.) Open to US residents only, age 18 and older
2.) Only ONE entry per person, please.

Contest ends December 21! I will be choosing a winner at random, so make sure to check back at that time! Good luck!

Side note: And while you're at it, you could also enter Beso's $1,000 shopping spree giveaway here just by creating and sharing your own personal wish lists. For more details, click away here!

wednesday giveaway!

< 1 minute

Need a little Wednesday boost to the spirits? Yeah. Me too. Lucky for you, the lovely folks over at Sachin + Babi have just the ticket to turn your proverbial frown upside down -- a new pair of earrings! But not just any earrings, mind you.

These earrings double as weaponry for your ears, which let's all be honest here, seems to be a seriously lacking in the realm of jewelry arsenal. Sure, there are spiked cuffs and brass knuckle-esque rings, but earrings? Now those could definitely come in handy as they come with the element of surprise.

But enough of my rambling, right? How do you win these beauties? Just a few simple steps because, well, I like to keep things easy.

1.) Like Sachin + Babi on Facebook
2.) Comment here on this post on This Time Tomorrow
3.) Cross your fingers until next Wednesday, November 16th when I will randomly select a winner from the comments section!

Extra details: International readers welcome to enter! Comment away and good luck!
UPDATE: The contest is now closed! The lucky winner, thanks to Random.Org, is commenter #18, aka Elyse! Elyse, I'll be emailing you shortly to get your mailing address and thanks to everyone who entered!

{pretty powerful} winner!

Shirt: Zara (similar style here); Jumpsuit: Zara (similar style here); Shoes: Jessica Simpson; Belt: Gap; Bag: Lodis iPad case; Sunglasses: Karen Walker; Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, H&M necklaces

I have to say it, guys. I am completely blown away. After reading through the many heartfelt comments for the Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful giveaway that I posted about last week -- I was so incredibly inspired. Needless to say, narrowing down a winner has been a tough decision but I'd like to announce that Courtney of I Can Be Many Things has won the Pretty Powerful makeup palette!

Here's an excerpt of what she wrote about her mom that really resonated with me:

"Mom never shows her emotions, always works works works for others, always appears so strong on the outside. It makes me wonder how she does it. She says her love for us keeps her living, and she does everything for us. Since I'm a Mom I know exactly what she's talking about since there's NOTHING I wouldn't do for my baby. That's what is powerful: the unbreakable bond and borderlineCRAZY love that comes with being a mother!"

Courtney, I'll be emailing you shortly about your prize! Congrats! And huge thank you to everyone who entered! I loved reading through each and every comment!

pretty {powerful}

Shirt: Zara (similar style here); Shorts: Urban Outfitters (similar style here); Shoes: Valentino (similar style here); Bag: Lodis iPad case (similar style here); Sunglasses: YSL (similar style here); Jewelry: Michael Kors watch, Bee Charming necklace, J. Crew bracelet

The lovely folks over at Bobbi Brown have a pretty fabulous campaign going on right now, aptly called "Pretty Powerful," emphasizing how women, all women, are pretty without makeup and with the right makeup, can be pretty powerful at that. I love the concept of this, namely because I tend to remain pretty neutral with my makeup myself (aside from the necessary lip color pop) but also because it's so very true. A little bit always goes a long way, in my book.

Of course, after I got to reading some of the "Pretty Powerful" women stories on their campaign site (I highly recommend you do, too) I got to thinking about some of the pretty powerful women in my life -- my mother being the frontrunner. Always true to herself, my mother is one of my biggest influences. She's always taught me to never be afraid of speaking my mind -- even if I'm standing alone. I'm forever grateful for that.

Giveaway Rules:

Do you have someone in your life who you think is "Pretty Powerful"? I'd love to hear it! One winner will receive an exclusive "Pretty Powerful" makeup palette! To enter, simply:

1.) Tell me about your "Pretty Powerful" person in the comments below. Don't forget to tell me why that person stands out. (Only comments made to this post will be considered as entries.)
2.) Check back later this week when I announce the winner.

That's it! Easy two steps, right? Good luck and looking forward to reading your comments!
