Vivian: I appreciate this whole seduction thing you've got going on here, but let me give you a tip: I'm a sure thing.

If ever there was a character that made goofy synonymous with sexy, it would have to be Vivian Ward from Pretty Woman. I remember watching the movie when I was much younger, perhaps only just grasping the concept of prostitution (that my parents likely reluctantly explained to me at the time of watching the movie), and just loving how fun-loving and silly Julia Roberts character was. The world of prostitution has come a long way since Pretty Woman was made, with escorts now advertising their services online using sites such as escort ads, but the film still feels timeless. From singing Prince songs in the bathtub to explaining how his borrowed Lotus "corners like it's on rails" it was hard not to fall in love with her spirited and perhaps misunderstood character, prostitute or not.

Then, of course, there were her dresses -- the infamous polka dot dress for the polo match being my all-time favorite. You could say I've been on a bit of hunt for the perfect Vivian-inspired dress since then -- so when I found this particular frock from Reformation, I knew I was onto something. What sealed the deal for me though? The minute my dog walker arrived to take Elvis out for his afternoon walk, she took one look at my dress and said, "Off to the polo match today?" To which I replied with this.

We've talked about some of my favorite leading ladies in literature before. Jo March. Scout Finch. Madeline, to name a few. Today I'll be sharing some of my favorite iconic dress moments from Hollywood and how to pull off the look for spring.

What are some of your favorite iconic dress moments from the movies? Let me know in the comments below! Keep scrolling to see mine!

[prodl brand="Vivetta" product="Floral midi dress" description="Cue: Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face. So I know what you're thinking. Why not the classic black gown that usually gets associated with Breakfast at Tiffanys? Well, as much as I LOVE that dress, there's a particular floral dress that pops up in Funny Face for a REALLY short scene when they're shooting around Paris -- and it's STUNNING. Fit and flare. Midi length. Worn with ballet flats and the most beautiful wide brim sun hat ever. She turns around just as he's snapping her photo, arms full of fresh blooms. I've been searching high and low for a similar dress as I'm planning a fun shoot at the moment with my friend, Igee, and I think I stumbled upon the perfect frock." link="http://shopstyle.it/l/Diq0"][/prodl]

[prodr brand="HVN" product="Laura cherry print dress" description="Cue Marilyn Monroe in The Misfits, her final film actually. While the white dress in Seven Year Itch may be her most iconic moment, the cherry print dress she wears in The Misfits is probably my favorite look on her. As glamorous as she was, I think I've always been more drawn to Marilyn's more casual outfits -- sweaters and jeans, simple sundresses. I think she tended to look more at home and more like herself that way." link="http://shopstyle.it/l/Dirg"][/prodr]

[prodl brand="La Ligne" product="Boudour silk-satin dress" description="Cue Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface. If you're looking for a va-va-voom moment, look no further. I mean, it was always pretty hard to tear your eyes away from Pfeiffer in whatever scene she graced in Scarface and her little, barely there dresses had something to do with it. I love this La Ligne dress -- as it's both elegant and sexy at the same time." link="http://shopstyle.it/l/DirP"][/prodl]

[prodr brand="Self Portrait" product="Two-tier lace dress" description="Cue Baby in Dirty Dancing. I mean, nobody's gonna put you in a corner if you're wearing this dress. Perhaps proceed with caution though if you're going to attempt a Jennifer Grey, Patrick Swayze BIG dance move moment. " link="http://shopstyle.it/l/DivL"][/prodr]

[prodl brand="Tibi" product="Ruffled satin midi dress" description="Cue Rita Moreno in West Side Story. While I wish I could find a fit and flare dress like Anita's when she sings 'America' I think this Tibi dress hits the nail right on the head with it's vivid lavender color -- surely Anita would have to approve, no? Plus, I think the pleating to it would be just so fun to dance in, should you choose to perform a musical number on your roof this summer." link="http://shopstyle.it/l/DiuC"][/prodl]

[prodr brand="Hellessy" product="Thelma off the shoulder dress" description="Cue Dorothy Dandridge in Carmen Jones. This role actually landed Dorothy the first Academy Award nomination for an African American actress. On top of that? She looked incredible in that little wiggle dress number -- off the shoulder black blouse, the ruched ruby red skirt and of course, that red flower behind her ear! I like to think Dorothy would be all over this Hellessy dress for it's wiggle appeal and drama!" link="http://shopstyle.it/l/Diwu"][/prodr]
